Recently, McLaren Automotive revived the legendary ‘Longtail’ name with the launch of the 675LT Coupé, minimising weight and optimising aerodynamics in parallel with increasing power, track focussed dynamics and driver engagement.

True to the spirit of its ‘Longtail’ predecessor and the traits inherent to a car wearing the LT badge, the 675LT Coupé earlier was acknowledged as the purest, most involving series-production McLaren supercar at launch.

Now as only the fourth ‘Longtail’ McLaren in more than two decades, the McLaren 600LT marks the beginning of the next chapter in the McLaren ‘Longtail’ (LT) story and at the same time sets a new sportscar benchmark as the fastest, most powerful and most track-focused, yet road legal Sports Series McLaren has created.

The McLaren 600LT is built to excel on roads and race circuits alike with an extended front splitter, lengthened rear diffuser and fixed rear wing. Built using the lightweight carbon fibre monocoque chassis for which McLaren is renowned, the 600LT further benefits from new carbon fibre bodywork that lowers vehicle weight as well as optimising aerodynamic performance.

Unique top-exit exhausts ensure that the new LT model has a distinct aesthetic appearance that identifies it as something particularly special, as well as delivering a substantial weight saving and anincredible aural experience.

To deliver the extreme performance appropriate for an LT, the McLaren 600LT is powered by a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-litre V8 engine that benefits from an uprated cooling system and reduced back pressure in an exhaust system that is even shorter and more extreme than that of the McLaren Senna. Peak power is 600PS (592bhp), with maximum torque of 620Nm (457lb ft) and thepower-to-weight ratio of the McLaren 600LT at lightest dry weight is an astonishing 481PS/tonne.

The new model features the forged aluminium double-wishbone suspension and lightweight braking system from the second-generation McLaren Super Series; bespoke, track-focused Pirelli Trofeo R tyres; quicker steering; sharpened responses from the throttle and brake pedals; significantly firmer engine mounts and exhausts that are mounted virtually behind the driver’s shoulder to bring the incredible sound of the powertrain into the cabin.

The driver is encouraged by the deep-rooted and incredibly pure connection with the car to fully exploit the optimised aerodynamics, reduced weight, increased power and track-focused dynamics. This higher level of excellence and engagement is the ethos at the heart of the McLaren 600LT, just as it was with the McLaren 675LT models and the McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ before them.

Volume of the new McLaren LT will also be strictly limited. Production of the 600LT Coupé will begin in October 2018 and last for around 12 months, with build slots scheduled around existing Sports and Super Series models, as well as the sell-out Senna, Senna GTR and BP23.  The specialist carbon fibre body panels of the 600LT will also ensure that it is significantly rarer than its Sports Series brethren.

Like its 675LT predecessors, each 600LT will be hand-assembled at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking, Surrey. Available to order now from McLaren retailers, the McLaren 600LT Coupé is subject to availability.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio has claimed the title of world’s fastest production SUV, setting a new benchmark lap time at Germany’s legendary Nürburgring – this is the latest achievement in the racing tradition of the Quadrifoglio in over a century of Alfa Romeo history.

A Stelvio Quadrifoglio lapped the 12.9-mile Nordschleife (North Loop) in a record 7 minutes 51.7 seconds. This new benchmark time is a full eight seconds faster than the previous production SUV record.

The Stelvio Quadrifoglio record was setby Fabio Francia – the same driver who also set the track record for the fastest four-door sedan in the world on the Nürburgring with the Giulia Quadrifoglio in a time of just 7 minutes and 32 seconds.

The first SUV in the more than a century-long history of the brand, Stelvio embodies the true authentic Alfa Romeo spirit – distinctive Italian style, state-of-the-art and innovative engines, perfect weight distribution, unique technical solutions and excellent weight-to-power ratio.

Infused with Italian passion, craftsmanship and innovation, the all-new Alfa Romeo Stelvio is designed to conquer the winding road after which it is named.

The Stelvio Quadrifoglio extensively integrates lightweight, state-of-the-art materials (including a class-exclusive carbon fibre driveshaft) that enable and deliver perfect 50/50 weight distribution, segment-leading torsional rigidity and the most direct steering available.

The heart and soul of this ultra-high performance SUV is an all-aluminium, direct-injection 2.9-litre 24-valve Twin-Turbo intercooled V6 engine, delivering 510 hp and 443 lb.-ft. of torque, which is paired with the standard Q4 all-wheel-drive system for the first time. The engine is also paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission with specific settings for shifting in just 150 milliseconds when in Race mode.

The Stelvio Quadrifoglio achieves the most horsepower per litre in its class.

Designed to enhance the all-new lightweight Alfa Romeo architecture, the all-aluminium 2.9-litre V6 Twin-Turbo engine features a compact 90-degree layout and was holistically designed for a low centre of gravity within the chassis.

Advanced technology features unique to the Stelvio Quadrifoglio include a four-mode Alfa DNA Pro selector with Race mode, torque vectoring differential, Quadrifoglio-tuned adaptive suspension and cylinder deactivation system to maximise fuel efficiency.

Ultra-high performance options for Stelvio Quadrifoglio include:

  • Ultra-lightweight carbon fibre shell Sparco racing seats, providing maximum lateral support during extreme cornering thanks to more aggressive bolstering, and designed to be the lightest in the segment, while providing comfort for long road trips
  • Ultra-high-performance Brembo carbon-ceramic material (CCM) brake system

Where other SUVs stop at utility, with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, Alfa Romeo took on the challenge to create the perfect mix of high performance, authentically sporty driving dynamics, Italian style and engineering technology with the comfort and roominess features which are typical of this segment.

The Lamborghini Urus Super SUV will make its public UK dynamic debut at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Displayed at the Lamborghini village alongside the new Lamborghini Performante Spyder – the convertible version of the record-breaking coupé – the Urus will also run ‘up the hill’.

Lamborghini super sports cars making the hill climb include the Centenario Roadster: one of a limited edition of 20 produced together with 20 coupés. With a start price of two million euros, the Centenario was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ferruccio Lamborghini’s birthday, and all sold prior to launch.

The Centenario is joined in the supercar paddock by the Huracán Performante and Spyder, as well as the Aventador S Coupé and Roadster. “Goodwood Festival of Speed marks the arrival of the Lamborghini Urus Super SUV in the UK, with the first cars about to be delivered to customers,” said Andrea Baldi, CEO Lamborghini EMEA. “The line-up of the Urus Super SUV as well as our V12 and V10 super sports cars means that fans of Lamborghini are promised a resounding display of iconic design and performance as each car runs up the Goodwood hill.”

Automobili Lamborghini announced record worldwide deliveries to customers last year of 3,815 cars across its Aventador and Huracán ranges. More than 350 cars were delivered in the UK during 2017, which was the third largest market for Lamborghini.

The Urus, first unveiled in December 2017 and officially launched earlier this year, features a 4.0 litre V8 twin-turbo engine delivering 650 hp. The Urus accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and, with a top speed of 190 mph, is the fastest SUV available. Lamborghini’s third model line, it will more than double sales worldwide as well as in the UK. The Lamborghini Urus retails in the UK from £165,000 on the road.

THE STORY OF EXTRAORDINARY: BENTLEY PREMIERES NEW FILM

Bentley premieres new film_03.jpg

Bentley Motors, founded 10th July 1919, is entering its 100th year of creating the world’s most iconic Grand Tourers, and the British luxury brand is honouring decades of innovation, achievement and craftsmanship by releasing a short film ‘An Extraordinary Grand Tour: The Story of Bentley’.

From W.O. Bentley himself, right up to the new Continental GT, the film touches upon the extraordinary characters, sporting achievements and successful models through the decades.

The film uses a striking combination of 3D-scanned actors turned into digital ‘metal’ sculptures; stylised archive imagery; and Hollywood-grade motion graphic technology to tell the Bentley story.

It begins with W.O. Bentley touching an aluminium paperweight (the inspiration for his revolutionary aluminium piston design) to a wall which then comes to life, taking the viewer on an engaging journey across Bentley’s near-century of innovation and success.

The legendary Bentley Boys and Girls star, as do the Le Mans-winning ‘Blower’ and Speed 8, alongside Woolf Barnato during his famous race against the ‘Blue Train’. The film is also inspired by the shapes, surfaces and luxurious materials that have made Bentley the enduring automotive brand it is today.

Shot using 4k ALEXA Mini camera technology and bespoke rigs, the film was  produced by Oscar-winning visual effects company, The Mill.

‘An Extraordinary Grand Tour: The Story of Bentley’ can be viewed at http://www.BentleyMotors.com/100Years

Bentley’s Centenary – 100 Years of Extraordinary

In 1919 Walter Owen (W.O.) Bentley created a company with a simple objective: to build “a fast car, a good car, the best in its class”. This guiding principle has driven Bentley ever since, pushing the brand forward and making it the leader in automotive luxury around the world.

The 10th of July 2018 marks the start of Bentley’s 100th year and the countdown to the brand’s centenary in 2019. This extraordinary milestone – reached by only a special few companies – will be a cause for celebration of the company’s history and its global success today.

The Minardi 191B F1 with Lamborghini engine returns to racing after 26 years

Twenty-six years from its last Grand Prix, the Minardi M191B chassis #003, equipped with a Lamborghini LE3512 V12 engine and one of the protagonists of Formula One in 1992, is back on the track.

The exciting shakedown organized by Lamborghini Squadra Corse is the result of a meticulous restoration carried out by Lamborghini Polo Storico with the support of former Lamborghini engineering personnel who were active on the Lamborghini F1 project in the early ’90s.

The Minardi M191B #003 is the first single-seater to be restored by Polo Storico. After being on display at the Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the car underwent seven months of work to return to its original efficiency, with most of the original components maintained.

The tires, fuel tank, engine control unit, seat belts, and fire extinguishing system were replaced, while the other components were carefully restored, starting from the engine designed by Mauro Forghieri. The 12-cylinder LE3512 is still able to deliver the original almost 700 HP, enabling enthusiasts to relive the emotions of the golden years of Formula One.

The guests of honor on the occasion of its grand return are Mirko Bortolotti, Lamborghini factory driver, and Giancarlo Minardi. The founder of the Faenza-based team recalled the fruitful collaboration with Lamborghini that lasted for the entire 1992 season: “Seeing the models of 25 or 30 years ago is still exciting. They are the last cars before the beginning of telemetry and automatic transmissions. Apart from the growling noise, which still today brings back those wonderful times, it was a very flexible engine with enormous power starting from the low rpms.”

Entrusted to drivers Gianni Morbidelli and Christian Fittipaldi, the Minardi M191B #003 competed in the first Grand Prix races of 1992 before being replaced by the M192, also equipped with a Lamborghini engine. The best result achieved by the single-seater restored by Polo Storico was 11th place with Christian Fittipaldi at the wheel at the Spanish GP, and it is now ready to return to racing and competing in the championships dedicated to historic F1 races. The testing outcome was very positive: the car ran more than 20 laps without any problem and the Lamborghini engine perfectly maintained all the features that so impressed Ayrton Senna during the tests at Estoril in 1993.

Volvo Car Mobility launches mobility brand M

Volvo Cars, the premium carmaker, today launches M, a new brand that will expand the company’s global mobility operations by providing dependable, on-demand access to cars and services through an intuitive app.

Moreover, M will learn about its user’s needs, preferences and habits, personalising the customer relationship. It will debut in Sweden and the US in the spring of 2019.

“Volvo Cars is becoming more than just a car company. We recognise that urban consumers are rethinking traditional car ownership. M is part of our answer. We are evolving to become a direct-to-consumer services provider under our new mission ‘Freedom to Move’,” said Håkan Samuelsson, Volvo Cars president and chief executive.

M is developing proprietary learning technology that asks users about their specific needs instead of merely informing them where they can pick up a car.

“The services currently available mainly offer alternatives to a taxi or public transit,” said Bodil Eriksson, CEO of Volvo Car Mobility. “We’re focused on the way people use the cars they own, which sets us apart. We aim to provide a real alternative to that experience. It should enable us to live life on our terms, getting things done and maximising precious time. We see the opportunity to offer a premium experience.’”

In addition to a team of experienced and sought-after digital software engineers and leading talent, M draws on 20 years of learnings and data from Sunfleet, Volvo Car Group’s car-sharing pioneer. Sunfleet is the leading car sharing company in Sweden with 500,000 annual transactions and a fleet of 1,700 cars. It will be fully integrated into M in 2019, making the service available to all existing Sunfleet members.

“Mobility is undergoing a fundamental transformation and Volvo Cars is leading that change. The launch of M creates new sources of revenue for Volvo Cars and will be integral to the company’s ambition to build more than 5 million direct consumer relationships by the middle of the next decade,” said Mr Samuelsson.

“Stockholm, Sweden, will serve as M’s base of development and where we already conduct extensive testing. A broader Beta test will take place this autumn,” said Ms Eriksson.

Further information about the M service will be released later this year.

Our region is full of young business start-ups, budding entrepreneurs and many successful global companies. Therefore, with the aim of combining innovative ideas, business insight and exciting discussions with like-minded entrepreneurs, Volkswagen Middle East partnered with the region’s largest experiential tech festival STEP X to provide a platform called ‘Meet the Mentors’ where young successful entrepreneurs exchanged advice, knowledge and business relationships.

This initiative comes in consideration of Volkswagen Middle East’s overarching strategy towards moving people forward. As a result, Volkswagen set up Mentor programmes between eight young entrepreneurs and eight experienced mentors, from Magnitt, Careem, Noon, Lamsa, Derq, Insydo, Mompreneurs, and Glowork to create the ‘Meet the Mentors’ series. The gathering gave the Mentees the opportunity to ask business focused questions and gain advice from the successful Mentors which they can take back to their own business development and communities.

These speed-coaching sessions took place in the new Volkswagen Arteon, to create a relaxing, but engaging environment for generating discussion, and as a result of the content, CNN will be showing these films across their website.

Andrew Savvas, Brand Director Volkswagen Middle Eastsaid: “At Volkswagen we are constantly seeking to attract like-minded people who aspire to stand out from the crowd, create their own path to success and work with innovative industry partners to move forward and shape our future. This campaign not only connects two people with the same mind-set together, to enable them to learn and share, but also opens the door to many others who may need similar advice to improve their businesses and personal development across the industry.”

The Meet the Mentors series focuses on eight different business themes which a lot of young entrepreneurs are facing in today’s business market: ‘The Power of Collaboration’, ‘Working with Data’, ‘How to Build Good Partner Relations’, ‘How to Build Your Brand’, ‘How to Connect’, ‘How to Sell Yourself’, ‘How to Seize Opportunities’, ‘How to Stand Out’.

The first episode will go live on Sunday June 3rd, 2018. Watch the full series unfold on CNN’s channels here:  https://arabic.cnn.com/special_reports/alruwwad_chat

Al Tayer Motors begins deliveries of the all-new Lincoln Navigator Full-size SUV

_DSC1393-no-tree-clean-floor.jpg

Over suhoor a few nights ago, we met the Al Tayer Motors and saw the eagerly awaited all-new Navigator.

As part of the dealership’s 2018 Ramadan campaign, the all-new Navigator is available with five years or 100,000 kilometres warranty and five years or 100,000 kilometres service contract with an added bonus of a one-night stay at the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel for confirmed bookings, subject to availability. The starting price of the vehicle is AED 351,750/- inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT).

Modern Elegance
Navigator’s elegance is on display before the doors even open. Upon approach, the chrome Lincoln star logo on the grille softly illuminates. Then, LED lighting in the lower front body and tail-lamps subtly engages, and a luminous Lincoln welcome mat appears beneath the front doors.

At night, interior ambient lights sequentially illuminate each of the SUV’s three rows. During the day, a panoramic roof fills the cabin with natural light. A twin-turbo 3.5-litre engine produces best-in-class 450 horsepower and 691 Nm of torque, providing smooth power whenever you need it, delivered through a 10-speed transmission.

Navigator’s lighter, high-strength aluminium-alloy body removes around 90 kg, helping create a more refined ride. Additional weight savings have been reinvested in features such as towing capability and quietness. For example, laminated front and side glass contributes to the quietest Navigator cabin ever.

The all-new Navigator offers speed-dependent adaptive lighting, a new Lincoln technology that provides a wider spread of light at lower speeds for increased visibility – helpful when driving through residential areas. As the vehicle accelerates, the beam of light narrows to help eliminate the glare off signs or other distractions.

Beneath the sleek interior are inclination and intrusion sensors, which trigger an alarm if someone attempts to move or enter the vehicle.

Spacious, Luxurious Interior

Inside, spaciousness comes in all three rows, including storage in each to keep the cabin clean and organised. The all-new Navigator’s advanced cargo management system offers an adjustable shelf behind the rear seats that allows clients to create storage customised to their needs. Even with the vehicle parked on an incline, the feature ensures groceries won’t roll out when the lift gate is opened. The interior layout is clean and uncluttered, with a simple, soothing ambience.

Staying connected is easy in the all-new Navigator with six USB ports, four 12-volt power outlets and a 230-volt plug. An available wireless phone charger in the first-row centre console media bin eliminates tangled cords. The client experience is further elevated through Lincoln’s new Personal Profile. It uses the key fob to recall individual driver preferences for adapting seat, mirror and pedal positions, as well as climate control and entertainment settings.

For owners desiring a more personalised look, Navigator comes with three Lincoln Presidential options – an exclusive collection of interior design themes and materials, plus a host of membership privileges.

The Navigator, with its segment-leading second and third row space, also comes
with three second-row configurations – three-person bench, two captain’s chairs with console, or two captain’s chairs with the convenience of a pass through. For customers wanting more storage, the Navigator L adds more than 430 litres of extra space behind the third row.

First-Class Seating For All
Even when the all-new Navigator is fully packed, each occupant can sit in comfort. The driver and front-seat passenger enjoy Perfect Position Seats, which offer massage, heating and cooling functionality, and can be adjusted up to 30 different ways.

Standard SYNC® 3 with both Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™** compatibility enables clients to manage audio, phone, navigation and more from the vehicle touch screen or steering wheel-mounted controls. Second-row passengers have their own audio and climate control, while third-row seats feature power recline capability.

A standard rear-seat entertainment system allows passengers to stream content wirelessly with an Android device to one of the 10-inch adjustable screens mounted on the rear of the front seats. Content also can be accessed from SD cards, an HDMI cable or USB drive.

Each screen can display different content, allowing a personalised entertainment experience for every passenger. Clients can enjoy available Revel® Ultima audio with 20 speakers that work in concert with Navigator’s interior design and acoustics. This transforms the cabin into a personal theatre with three distinct listening modes – stereo, audience and on-stage.

Family-Friendly Technology

Navigator is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. A 12-inch configurable instrument cluster allows drivers to choose the information they want displayed. An available Head-Up Display can show selected information on the windshield instead of the instrument cluster. Lincoln’s HUD is the brightest and clearest in the segment, with class-exclusive polarised sunglasses support, allowing drivers keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

It’s also easy to adjust to changing conditions. With the turn of a dial, the driver can adapt the Navigator to changing road or weather, and enjoy a smooth, confident ride.

Performance is the Heartbeat: Introducing the All-New Dodge Durango SRT

Tags

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

For the first time ever, SRT power is now available in the Dodge Durango. The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT is powered by the potent 392-cubic-inch HEMI®V8 engine with Fuel Saver Technology that delivers 475 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 470 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,300 rpm – providing America’s best horsepower and torque ratings that make it the world’s fastest, most powerful and most capable three-row SUV in its class.

To keep the powertrain running cool and efficient in higher demand environments, a new cold-air duct provides cooler outside air into the engine. Assuring maximum performance under extreme conditions, the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT has been validated through rigorous 24-hour track durability testing – a testing standard that every SRT vehicle adheres to.

The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT provides enhanced shift quality and performance drivability, as well as optimized fuel economy through its TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. This proven transmission was specifically calibrated for the Dodge Durango SRT to optimize shift points and deliver maximum torque to all four wheels. For the ultimate driver-controlled experience, the transmission can be manually shifted using the performance-inspired steering wheel paddle controls on the exclusive SRT-lit flat-bottom steering wheel.

When placed in Sport Mode, the transmission reduces shift times by up to 50 per cent versus Auto Mode and delivers 65 per cent of the engine’s torque to the rear wheels.

Acceleration and performance handling are further enhanced when the vehicle is in Track Mode. When in Track Mode, maximum performance track driving is achieved with 160-millisecond shifts and up to 70 per cent of the engine’s torque delivered to the rear wheels for the most pronounced rear-wheel-drive experience. Durango SRT drivers will also notice a vehicle that is more responsive from mid-corner to exit.

The new driver-oriented electronic T-shifter provides the driver with intuitive gear selection and offers an Auto Stick selector gate for added control. Drive and Sport shifting can be selected with no effect on the chosen suspension, stability control and driveline torque split settings.

The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT features launch control, which mimics a professional driver’s inputs to optimize performance by bringing engine, transmission, driveline, stability control and suspension together for an optimal launch and consistent straight-line acceleration.

The new exhaust system has been tuned to offer an unmistakably deep, high-performance note that is distinctive to Dodge/SRT and provides a lasting impression. To achieve this iconic exhaust tone, engineers have replaced the rear mufflers with resonators to increase overall sound level and improve tone of the true performance 2.75-inch (69.85 mm) dual exhaust system.

Ride and Handling

The Dodge Durango SRT rides on a short- and long-arm (SLA) independent front suspension with coil springs, specially tuned Bilstein adaptive damping suspension (ADS), upper- and lower-control arms (“A” arms) and a stabilizer bar. Additional changes include 3 per cent stiffer front springs, 16 per cent stiffer rear springs and an 18 per cent stiffer rear sway bar to provide Durango SRT drivers with outstanding high-speed cornering capability.

In the rear, a specially tuned multi-link suspension design has coil spring, Bilstein ADS, aluminium lower control arm, independent upper links (tension and camber), plus a separate toe link, and a stabilizer bar.

The 120-inch (3,048 mm) wheelbase allows for outstanding stability and consistency in high-speed cornering, while a new performance-tuned AWD system helps the Durango SRT set the world-class performance marks.

The Durango SRT also features the SRT seven-mode drive system, which provides the driver the ability to precisely adjust drive settings to maximize performance or comfort. Suspension, torque distribution, shift points, stability control and engine mapping are all controlled through this system.

The seven SRT drive modes include:

  • Auto:activates automatically when starting the vehicle. Sets the suspension and steering to comfort setting and longer shift times for longer, relaxed driving conditions
  • Sport: delivers increased vehicle performance capability over Auto Mode. Tightens up suspension damping and increased steering gradient feel for improved cornering response. In addition, shift speed increases 23 per cent in 1-4 gears and electronic stability control (ESC) allows more yaw for spirited driving
  • Track:delivers maximum vehicle performance capability on smooth, dry surfaces. Tightens up to full hard suspension damping and steering gradient feel for maximum cornering response. In addition, shift speed increases 50 per cent in 1-4 gears from Auto mode and ESC allows maximum yaw
  • Snow:sets ideal configuration for driving in snow by setting transmission to use second gear (rather than first gear) during launches to minimize wheel slippage; stability control is set to Full-on and AWD is set to 50/50 distribution
  • Tow:sets ideal configuration to tow a trailer by using full stability control; AWD is set to 50/50 distribution and trailer sway control is enabled in the ESC system. In addition, the Active Noise Cancelation system is automatically engaged to reduce engine noise from the high-load towing condition
  • Valet:engine is remapped to mimic the Dodge Charger V6 engine’s torque and horsepower settings; transmission locks out access to first gear and upshifts earlier than normal; traction, steering and suspension are set to their Auto settings; steering wheel paddle shifters are disabled; ESC is enabled to Full-on and launch control is disabled
  • ECO:maximizes fuel economy with a revised shift schedule, second-gear starts and extended range of the Fuel Saver Technology

Benchmark Braking

The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT delivers excellent braking performance, requiring an estimated 115 feet (35.05 m) to come to a full stop from 60 mph (97 km/h). Credit belongs to massive new Brembo high-performance six-piston (front) and four-piston (rear) calipers, and vented rotors at all four corners measuring 15 inches / 381mm (front-slotted) and 13.8 inches / 350.5mm (rear).

Aggressive, Functional and Luxurious Inside and Out

Along with its new ultimate performance capabilities, the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT provides the same combination of uncompromised utility, advanced technology and aggressive styling it is well known for.

Inside the refreshed cabin of the Durango SRT, new appointments include a hand-wrapped dashboard with live silver accent stitch, SRT flat-bottom performance steering wheel with standard paddle shift, heated and ventilated front seats with embossed SRT logos. Nappa leather with suede inserts and silver-stitched SRT logos are standard. Demonic Red Laguna leather interior with embossed SRT logos is optional.

Other luxurious touches brought to Durango for the first time in the SRT model include new Light Black Chrome centre stack, HVAC, full console and door handle bezels along with two choices of decorative bezels. Standard finish is Matte Reverse Chain, and for the first time on Durango a true carbon-fibre instrument panel and door bezels will be offered (late availability). Premium velour bound floor mats with embroidered SRT logo are standard. Adding to the impact of the hand-wrapped instrument panel, the headliner and A-pillars are available in Dynamica suede.

A newly designed 7-inch (177.8 mm), thin-film transistor (TFT) customizable digital instrument gauge cluster with 180-mph (290 km/h) speedometer allows drivers to select from a multitude of layouts and information. The class-exclusive Uconnect 8.4-inch (213.36 mm) touchscreen media centre houses the new SRT Performance Pages along with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD radio among other conveniences. The standard BeatsAudio premium sound system features nine speakers, subwoofer and 506-watt amplifier.

On the exterior, the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT carries a SRT hood with functional centre air-inlet ducts flanked by heat extractors that help to keep the engine bay cool by removing hot air from the engine compartment. A new front fascia and lower valence house the new cold-air duct and LED fog lamps. This new unique look will also include the SRT-inspired grille mesh pattern finish.

New integrated wheel flares and body-colour side rocker panels help provide an aggressive stance. The “392” badges flanking each fender with Bright Chrome and Metallic Grey accents differentiate the ultimate performance Durango.

At the rear, a new SRT rear body-colour lower fascia with Gloss Black accent surrounds the 4-inch dual round exhaust tips finished in Nickel Chrome and is also distinguished by new badging on the rear liftgate that denotes the new performance AWD system.

Safety and Security

The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT offers consumers more than 60 available safety and security features, with seven standard airbags, including full-length three-row side-curtain airbags, standard front-seat mounted side-thorax air bags, front-row active head restraints, standard trailer-sway control and available forward collision warning with crash mitigation, adaptive cruise control with stop, Blind-spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Path (RCP) detection.

Manufacturing: Built in Detroit

The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT is built at the 3-million-square-foot Jefferson North Assembly Plant (JNAP) in Detroit, which has been the site of Durango production since its introduction in 2011.
