As one of China’s most promising intelligent electric vehicle brands, AITO is making bold moves on the global stage. Known for seamlessly blending high-performance EV technology with a refined, luxury user experience, AITO is expanding its footprint beyond Asia with the unveiling of its latest innovations at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich.

I sat down with key AITO team members during the global press conference and the exclusive SERES Power launch to better understand the brand’s international roadmap, its upcoming EV lineup, and how it plans to redefine premium intelligent mobility worldwide.

AITO’s remarkable growth in China, where it has surpassed 770,000 cumulative sales in just under four years, provided the springboard for its international expansion. The AITO team explained that the timing was deliberate: after cementing leadership in the premium EV space at home, the brand was ready to introduce its vision of “Intelligence Redefining Luxury” to global markets, beginning with the Middle East.

At a time when many disruptors are crowding the EV sector, AITO sets itself apart by combining traditional hallmarks of luxury – craftsmanship, comfort, and safety with advanced intelligent technologies that elevate the entire ownership experience. From its intelligent driving system, which has already logged over 3.4 billion kilometers in real-world use, to its adaptive cockpits and range-extending powertrains, AITO is intent on giving users more than performance: it promises peace of mind and intuitive interaction.

The highlight in Munich was the global debut of three new SUVs: the flagship AITO 9, the family-focused AITO 7, and the sporty AITO 5. Each of these vehicles integrates SERES’ latest fifth-generation Super Range-Extender, offering quiet, efficient, and worry-free long-distance capability – up to 1,305 kilometers in the case of the AITO 9. Designed with global audiences in mind, these cars bring together luxury interiors, cutting-edge safety systems, and regional customisation, from sand-proofing for Middle Eastern roads to trilingual cockpits that include Arabic.

Complementing the product showcase was the introduction of SERES Power, a technology platform that underscores AITO’s belief that intelligence is the new frontier of luxury. From integrated die-casting in body manufacturing to AI-driven drivetrain systems, the technology is designed not only to improve efficiency and safety but also to transform the user experience into one that is seamless and constantly evolving through over-the-air updates.

Asked about partnerships, the team highlighted the importance of Huawei’s contributions to AITO’s intelligent cockpit and connectivity systems. This integration gives the brand a distinctive edge in offering intuitive, AI-enhanced digital ecosystems that blend with local lifestyles while maintaining global consistency.

Sustainability, too, is a pillar of the strategy. AITO’s manufacturing relies on highly automated, low-emission processes, while the vehicles themselves are designed to reduce carbon footprints through electrification, high-efficiency range extension, and smart energy management. The goal is to align luxury with responsibility, ensuring that progress in mobility also supports environmental stewardship.

Looking ahead, AITO is confident that its strongest international growth will come from the Middle East, where demand for long-range EVs and luxury SUVs is accelerating. With a dedicated regional hub in Dubai, partnerships already in place in Qatar and Egypt, and models tested specifically for desert conditions, the brand is building its future on both innovation and localisation.

In Munich, the message was clear: AITO is not just joining the global conversation on intelligent mobility.  It intends to lead it. With a product portfolio that redefines expectations of what luxury means in the EV era, and with technology that connects seamlessly to users’ lives, AITO is charting a course where intelligence, sustainability, and comfort converge into the new definition of mobility.
