Urban Automotive reports record growth in the Middle East

Urban Automotive has revealed it achieved record international growth in 2023, as it continues its investment and expansion into global markets.

The bespoke modifier of luxury automotive brands, founded in the UK in 2014, achieved over £3.8m of international sales in 2023, marking a remarkable 173% increase on the previous year. The success is underpinned by Urban Automotive’s global distribution network, made up of official outlets and approved local installers across 23 countries.

The success has been reinforced by Urban Automotive’s ever-expanding range of exclusive vehicle conversions, with styling kits for Lamborghini, Land Rover and Rolls-Royce models proving particularly popular with clients around the world.

Urban Automotive EU delivered 169 bespoke conversions in mainland Europe in 2023, with commissions overseen by the company’s official outlet in Loon op Zand, in the southern Netherlands. Two high profile brand ambassadors are also now onboard to help amplify the growth of Urban Automotive EU: Rico Verhoeven, professional Dutch kickboxer, and the Dutch television presenter and YouTuber Kaj Gorgels.

The US market has also seen significant growth for Urban Automotive over the last 12 months, thanks to a new distribution partnership with Milltek Corp – the North American division of one of the UK’s best-known performance exhaust specialists. The two British brands joined forces in 2023 to create Urban Automotive USA, offering a wider selection of vehicle modification products to customers across the USA, as well as fast shipping, and local support. Over 85 approved outlets are now available to American clients, attracting the attention of high-profile customers including American media personality Scott Disick.

The company also added Urban components to over 100 vehicles for clients in the Middle East in 2023, a number set to increase this year as demand grows for high-end vehicle modification across Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

All Urban Automotive styling kits are designed and manufactured at the company’s headquarters in Milton Keynes, with hand-assembly completed inhouse or by approved local installers. Each commission offers clients the opportunity to create a truly unique vehicle, with comprehensive customisation options spanning external design, alloy wheels, bespoke interior specifications and enhanced Milltek Sport performance exhausts.

Patrick Meijer, CEO at Absolute Motors Group and official distributor of Urban Automotive EU, said: “Our demand in mainland Europe has skyrocketed in the last three years. Our signature ‘OEM+’ design philosophy has resonated with European customers, setting new benchmarks for what’s possible in the luxury SUV sector.”

Steve Pound, CEO at Milltek Corp and official distributor of Urban Automotive USA, said: Urban has been a well-known and highly respected brand in the USA over the past few years. When we opened our new facility in Alcoa, Tennessee, it was a perfect fit to expand our existing partnership with Urban. During the first full year we have seen triple digit growth in North America, with the Land Rover Defender, Rolls Royce Cullinan, and Bentley Continental GT/GTC ranges all being in high demand from the outset. The USA is a huge market for all things automotive and Urban’s OEM+ design and exceptional fitment has really helped it stand out from the competitors.”

Faisal Toma, Head of Aftermarket at Silverstone Automotive and official distributor of Urban Automotive Middle East, added: “The Urban Automotive brand has gained massive popularity in our region over the years, and is now well known among enthusiasts. Currently the Land Rover Defender is hugely popular with our clients, and the direction of Simon Dearn and his team has led to us developing a very strong partnership. Demand is only increasing, and we see unlimited potential.”
